That's always such a big factor going into the playoffs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022434008227965275.post-62087261157396425152008-09-19T23:44:00.000-04:002008-09-19T23:44:00.000-04:00Dice-K's playoff performance is going to be the ke...Dice-K's playoff performance is going to be the key, I think, and that scares me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022434008227965275.post-59524252077968222592008-09-19T00:45:00.000-04:002008-09-19T00:45:00.000-04:00""WE HAVE TO PLAY THE ANGELS, THEY KILLED US THIS ...""WE HAVE TO PLAY THE ANGELS, THEY KILLED US THIS YEAR!!! MOM, HAVE YOU SEEN MY PINK RED SOX HAT???""

Classic. Part of the reason I love reading this blog. Man, we have a ton of those folks on our (Rays) side, too. All you can do is hope they'll stick with it and become REAL fans.
Hell of a series, by the way. Should be an interesting week...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022434008227965275.post-78264062846178289982008-09-18T20:57:00.000-04:002008-09-18T20:57:00.000-04:00I share your confidence in facing the Halos...but ...I share your confidence in facing the Halos...but perhaps not as confident as this time last year. Overall health is the key concern with this Sox team. If we can go into the series with a lineup that boasts a healthy Lowell, Drew and Bay (which may be stretch), we'll be fine. I like our starters against theirs, although their bullpen may be deeper.

That said, an important factor will be the Angel's choice of start dates. They will have the choice to start on Weds Oct 1st or Thursday Oct 2nd...which translates into having three or two days off during the series. It's my guess the Angels will go with the two days off schedule so that if they do see Beckett in game 5, he'll have one day less rest.DVicinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17349023854997580163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2022434008227965275.post-61266561534833535482008-09-18T20:05:00.000-04:002008-09-18T20:05:00.000-04:00Another point that was in my original draft before...Another point that was in my original draft before we lost power at work, the Angels have been swept by the Red Sox the last two times they've meet in the playoffs, '04 and '07. It's completely plausible that Beckett goes out there in game 1 and shuts them down the Angels and their fans won't begin to panic and turn on one another using thundersticks as weapons. Think about it...Tim Murphyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11500281703391623368noreply@blogger.com
